Arba Minch, Ethiopia — October 10, 2025
The Arba Minch Town Faecal Sludge Treatment Plant (FSTP) project received a high-profile visit today, attended by representatives from the World Bank mission team, the Ministry of Water and Energy, and the Regional Water and Energy Urban WASH teams. Also present were officials from the local client, Arba Minch Town Water Supply and Sewerage Enterprise, Urban WASH representatives, environmental specialists, the consulting firm Metaferia Consulting Engineers, and key personnel from BIGETA Business PLC. (the contractor) including its Engineering Service and Contract Administration Head, Project Manager, and site and office engineers.

The visit began with a morning site inspection, followed by an afternoon meeting at the Arba Minch Town Administration Mayor’s Office. During the meeting, stakeholders reviewed project progress and addressed critical issues.
The meeting concluded with clear assignments for each stakeholder and an agreed timeframe to resolve pending matters.

According to reports presented during the session, the physical civil works progress on the FSTP project is currently reported to be good, signaling positive momentum toward completion.
